About José Cacho

José Cacho, born in Mexico City, is a exceptionally talented artist, whose works are timelessly classic yet meticulously crafted with a contemporary dynamic allure. Cacho applies a wide variety of materials, such as acrylic, acrylic medium, inks, pigments, charcoal, pastels, graphite, gold, silver and bronze foil, stencils, paper, collage alcoholic transfer and oxide powder. All of these materials are layered upon different substrates such as canvas, wood panel, acrylic sheets, mirror, metal and paper. The amalgamation of elements allows him to reach textures and depths that would not otherwise be possible. His work is about the enquiry of humanity from the cosmogony of the female form, bearer of life and mystery. His female form is recognized as a source of knowledge and harmony perpetuating wisdom and balance. The composition of the elements in each painting is charged with rich symbolism, cognizant of the images of the women portrayed and the texts, which are subtly yet meticulously grouped together: representing the human complexity of the mind. They further add an air of mystique and allure, the already captivating works.

Cacho's work is magnetic, sublime, alluring and his varying techniques have enabled him to create a sophisticated ashen deer and enigmatic visual language.

Each piece of Cacho’s work has a strong story, a collage of symbols and meanings: The mosaic patterns, inspired by Klimt’s technique, represent the integration of human mind: thoughts and emotions, which in turn creates our reality. In contrast, the void areas of his work allude to the moments of reflection and tranquillity necessary to achieve balance in everyday life. Cacho's work is magnetic, sublime, alluring and his varying techniques have enabled him to create a sophisticated ashen deer and enigmatic visual language.
