Holly Victoria Turner - Thakran
Born in Leicestershire, United Kingdom, Holly moved to London to study Ancient History & Egyptology at University College London. After completing her B.A, she enrolled at Sotheby’s Institute Of Art to study ‘Styles In Art’. Holly started her career in a contemporary art gallery in central London. Inspired by Asian art and the opportunities in the East, she moved to Singapore in early 2011 and worked for one of Singapore’s leading art galleries. In 2014, Holly began to research Latin American Art and became fascinated by the creativity coming from Colombia. In 2015 she began collecting Latin American Art and in late 2017 ARTitude Galería was founded, a platform dedicated to showcasing exceptional established and emerging Artists. “At ARTitude we are telling a story in the language we are most fluent: the language of visual arts, a vernacular not of words but of images that dazzle, perplex and represent a kaleidoscope, of not just a visual experience, but of a unique time and situation that the artist is trying to convey.”
ARTitude Galería buys, sells and consigns Latin American Art through special exhibitions that not only celebrate the art but also the culture and customs of the region. We look for unique Artists with a fresh vision of vitality, brilliance, ingenuity and bold statements. Quite often young talented artists encounter difficulties in promoting and finding a platform to exhibit, market and sell their work. At ARTitude Galería we believe in giving emerging artists a chance to prove themselves and enhance their artistic career through gallery representation. We encourage our artists by giving them the freedom to experiment with new ideas and in some cases create a unique plethora of Asian images from a Latin perspective. We aspire to disseminate information to Asian collectors and encourage them to invest in artists from outside of the Asian scope. In a sense, we aim to be their telescope into Colombian Latin American Art. Let us come together and celebrate the beat of this incredible continent’s art and culture.
