About Louisa Raj
A self-taught artist, dedicated to the style of realism, Louisa Raj's creative journey ignited during the COVID-19 pandemic. Initially influenced by online tutorials and supported by a short course in LaSalle College of the Arts, Louisa sought guidance from esteemed local artists, including Dominic Chan and Matthias Chua. Her commitment to her craft has led to recognition as a two-time finalist in the UOB Painting of the Year competition and a feature in Grazia Singapore as a 'Game Changer' in the arts scene. Working primarily in still life and realism, Louisa's artistic style blends traditional painting with playful digital works, drawing inspiration from Singaporean culture, her childhood memories and everyday conversations.

Louisa explores themes of nostalgia, memory and appreciation of life's fleeting moments. Her creative process involves meticulous planning, sketching, and refining, allowing her to better convey deep interpersonal subjects and clearly relay her messaging to her audience. Her notable exhibitions include participation in the Affordable Art Fair SG 2024 and the Dreamers and Creators exhibition at Selegie Art Centre in December 2023, alongside her acclaimed Mahjong and Still Life series. Louisa’s digital NFT piece, Apple Juice Can, has been acquired by ARC, a prominent Web3 community, adding to her accolades.
