Year of birth: 1975
Aníbal Vallejo is a Colombian artist whose practice brings together painting, textile, and conceptual processes. Born in Medellín in 1975, he grew up in a family of artists, musicians, and writers, an environment that shaped his early relationship with image-making and cultural expression.
He studied Fine Arts and later pursued Fashion Design in Medellín, developing a multidisciplinary visual language that moves between material experimentation and personal symbolism. His work often explores themes of memory, identity, and the passage of time, giving his practice both an intimate and reflective dimension.
Vallejo later continued his formation in Europe, living and working in England, Spain, and Italy before moving to New York City, where he established his studio and expanded his international exhibition presence. His career has included exhibitions in Colombia and the United States, including presentations with Fabien Castanier Gallery in Bogotá and Los Angeles, as well as White Columns in New York.
