The character appears reduced to a childish and...This work presents Karl Lagerfeld not as a faithful portrait, but as a decomposed symbol of a figure turned into a myth. The character appears reduced to a childish and crude form, as if the extreme sophistication of the icon had been deliberately dismantled to its most basic form. The work, in its initial form, had to be altered; the two feet did not work visually and the right hand was an extension that did not contribute to the composition. It was necessary to further abstract the drawing.
