There is no celebration and no explicit nostalgia that defines this work. There is a critical review of the popular image subjected to the passage of time and the loss of a sense of identity. The subdued, muted color (green) reinforces an atmosphere of silence and abandonment; the figure Mickey seems to walk aimlessly, caught between the persistence of the symbol and its inevitable deterioration. The image ceases to be a character and becomes a metaphor: a vulnerable, incomplete, and deeply human body.
