Andrés Layos Colombian, b. 1986

Andrés Layos is a Colombian artist working in drawing, painting and sculpture. He studied Fine Arts at the Fundación Universitaria Bellas Artes de Medellín, graduating in 2012.

Andrés paints from a specific emotional state, using feeling as the starting point for each work. Through this process, he seeks to translate emotion into form and to capture the natural movement of landscapes as an inner experience rather than a fixed image. His paintings are guided by sensation, where rhythm, gesture and atmosphere become tools to express what cannot be easily named.
